"Truffles and Lace Tea Parlour opened on September 17th, 2005. My husband, Roger and I designed and built a Queen Anne Victorian home in Scripps Ranch, CA. I would often serve tea and give afternoon tea for showers and friends. My friends would often say 'you have such an extensive collection of teacups and teapots you could start a tea parlour of your own,' so I did.
I started studying and reading every aspect of tea. I took a course by Lady Dawnya Sasse from Start A Tea Business.com where you can 'Make Your Tea Dream a Reality…' It gave me knowledge of the financial end of a business and the skills to pursue learning all about tea. Lady Dawnya gives you encouragement, inspiration and is a great mentor. I have been on two Tea Cruises sponsored by Lady Dawnya continuing my education of the world of tea while at sea. My most recent trip was learning to blend tea with Lynn from Tea Source and Anthony from Affinitea showing us how to make delicious Chai Teas with the Affinitea machine. I am currently looking forward to Beth Johnson as our guest speaker on the 2009 Tea Cruise. I have also taken several classes for the past three years at the World Tea Expo in Las Vegas .
